Apprenticeships are paid jobs with training. They are for young people aged 16 and over, who are not in full time education. Last year, tpm helped 132 people complete an apprenticeship. tpm offers apprenticeships in barbering, business & administration, childcare, customer service, and hairdressing
Getting onto an apprenticeship through tpm means going through a 6 step process from setting up an appointment to come in and see us, to actually getting employed and starting your apprenticeship
Can anyone do an apprenticeship?
To do an apprenticeship, you have to be aged 16 or over and not be in full time education. You also have to be motivated and determined to do well. You need to be capable of achieving a level 2 qualification. If you don’t think you are, still get in touch, as you may be suited to a Traineeship – a course to help you gain extra skills before you progress onto an apprenticeship
Depending on how old you are, there are different ways that your apprenticeship will be paid for. For most 16 to 18 year olds, the Government pays but this isn’t always the case for older students.
