Foundation Diploma in Society, Health and Development
The Diploma is a new qualification for 14 to 19 year olds who are at school or college. It’s an alternative to GCSEs and A-levels, offering a mix of classroom learning and hands-on experience in a chosen area of work.
- Normally takes about two years to complete
- Foundation level is equivalent to 5 GCSEs grade D to G, Higher Diploma is equivalent to 7 GCSEs grade A* to C, Advanced Diploma is equivalent to 3.5 A-levels
- Learning is mainly classroom-based
- Includes project work and work experience
TPM currently offers the foundation level Diploma in Society, Health and Development. The course looks at six main areas:
- The sectors in context
- Principles and values in practice
- Partnership working
- Communication and information sharing
- Personal and professional development in the work environment
- Safeguarding and protecting individuals and society
