Foundation Diploma in Society, Health and Development
The Diploma is a new qualification for 14 to 19 year olds who are at school or college. It’s an alternative to GCSEs and A-levels, offering a mix of classroom learning and hands-on experience in a chosen area of work.

  • Normally takes about two years to complete
  • Foundation level is equivalent to 5 GCSEs grade D to G, Higher Diploma is equivalent to 7 GCSEs grade A* to C, Advanced Diploma is equivalent to 3.5 A-levels
  • Learning is mainly classroom-based
  • Includes project work and work experience

TPM currently offers the foundation level Diploma in Society, Health and Development. The course looks at six main areas:

  • The sectors in context
  • Principles and values in practice
  • Partnership working
  • Communication and information sharing
  • Personal and professional development in the work environment
  • Safeguarding and protecting individuals and society
