I am 21 and work at Jack and Jill Day Nursery. Before I started at tpm I worked in retail at a city centre store (The Beatles Story), and then I found out about tpm apprenticeships from Job Centre Plus.
I am currently working towards a Childcare apprenticeship with tpm. I decided upon this particular course as I’ve always wanted to work with young people so gaining a qualification in childcare was the right choice as it puts me on the right career path.
As a childcare practitioner my duties involve caring for the children and ensuring their safety, and I enjoy the interaction I have with the children most of all.
At tpm the tutors are good at helping you and putting things across. What I enjoy most about my course and the teacher is the interaction and positive atmosphere. My personal assessor is really helpful always explains the work thoroughly and always helps with any problems I am experiencing.
tpm have helped me gain numerous skills including, Paediatric first aid, understanding legislation, and childcare theory and knowledge.
I would say to anyone considering a course with tpm ‘go for it the course is invaluable and you will be qualified before you know it. Really consider signing up to tpm and undertake your vocational training with them they are a great training provider and really good at what they do’.
My main goals after gaining these qualifications are going on to university and undertake a degree in youth work and eventually become a youth worker.
