Lewis Ellison My assessor is really helpful and has helped me throughout both my qualifications.
Name: Lewis Ellison
Sector: Business & Administration

I am 18 and before I started with tpm I was studying Health and Social Care at a local college but felt there was something else I might enjoy more. Unsure of what to do with my career I sought advice from Connexions and after discussing my experience and skills they referred me to tpm.

I am now studying for an Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration; having recently completed a level 2 Apprenticeship. I decided upon this particular course because I thought business and administration would be interesting and rewarding with lots of different job opportunities.

What I like most about my course and my class is working alongside other young people like myself and listening and sharing ideas with them. Attending my classes gives me real motivation when returning to work, my teacher is really helpful and encouraging. My assessor is also really helpful and has helped me throughout both my qualifications, she is always available to give me advice and guidance whenever I get stuck on my work.

I have had a lot of guidance and support during my Apprenticeship and I have gained so much experience. Since starting my qualification I have gained numerous skills but one which I use in my everyday job is the ICT training I received because I wasn’t very good at ICT in school and I now know I feel really competent. I have also learnt excellent customer service skills from staffing our reception.

I work for tpm which is unique as they are my training provider too! My job role involves many different aspects of the Company’s office administration. What I enjoy most about working at tpm is coming home every day knowing I’ve learnt something new.

The most important thing for me was taking the opportunity and gaining as much experience as I could, this has also given me a stepping stone to what ill be doing in the future.

When I complete my advanced award I would like to progress within my work role and responsibilities and or go to university maybe.
