I first heard about tpm through one of their recruitment consultants who told me about the courses they could offer employers like myself and the staff who worked for me. I thought I should get involved as it sounded really rewarding so I jumped at the chance. That was a few years ago, and now I have completed my advanced hairdressing and barbering qualifications with them.
My job role and duties include everything to do with running the salon. What I love most about my work is meeting new people and helping them to feel good about themselves and guiding and supporting my staff who also gained their qualifications with tpm.
tpm have been really helpful towards me; they helped me discover that I am dyslexic through their initial assessment and arranged all of the professional dyslexia assessment for me free of charge. This process and diagnosis has answered a lot of questions I had and made everything fall into place.
What I like most about my course and teacher is that even after working 10 years as a hairdresser I have still learned new skills and exciting techniques and this has enabled me to offer a much wider range of services to my clients, which has added to the salons image.
tpm is a Dyslexia friendly champion, so everyone knows how to understand my needs and help me whenever they can. My assessor has been a great help in supporting me through some challenging situations.
I would recommend anyone wanting to complete a hairdressing qualification to tpm it’s easily accessible and I really enjoyed my time there. I’m considering a teaching qualification in the future.
