Quality Director, Paula Hayes commented: ‘This means that LSIS has recognised tpm’s best practice, quality and expertise in our field and may call upon tpm to support other learning and skills providers to develop their programmes during 2011-12’.
From the 1st of October 2011 the (NMW) rate for Apprentices aged 16-18 and those aged 19 but in the first year of an apprenticeship is £2.60/hour. The NMW applies to time spent working plus time spent training as this is also part of the apprenticeship.

Childcare Apprentice Charlotte Churchill will long be remembered by staff and students at tpm. Director Brian Quinn reported: ‘Charlotte’s short but vibrant life has touched many here at tpm, the news that Charlotte had died in a car accident had a devastating effect of the College and in particular the staff and learners of the Childcare Programme’.
This year tpm introduces the EDI Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid. These units appear in the Level 2 Certificate in Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification. They encompass a strong practical skills element and will be assessed through practical assessments, oral questioning and multiple-choice tests.

This year tpm became a HABIA Member School. This prestigious membership means we have improved our presence and expertise in the sector even further with advanced access to knowledge and information of key importance to our client groups.

Friday 13th May was no unlucky day at tpm, because we welcomed 167 visitors to our annual Open Day. 116 school leavers, and their parents and support workers attended.
