Day 1: My day started with a health and safety induction with Warren. The grand tour that I had and doing the photocopying were also with Warren. After lunch I printed off some ‘Dominoes’ with Gemma and then photocopied them onto different colored paper. Then I laminated them and finally cut them out. These were used for a word matching game for students.
Day 2 started with finding a suitable tube and geographical map for Sue to use for her lessons. Then I assembled and laminated the maps and I continued with that after break. Next I helped Sue with altering a chart on the whiteboard and then sorted and set up her files. Afterwards, I talked about what a C.V. is with Stephen and I did two tasks about that and finally I typed out the plan of my C.V.
Day 3 was different however because I did one task for the whole morning, which was building Personnel Files for students with Brian. I also learned some things about teamwork in that exercise. I also did one task for the whole afternoon as well, which was making games for Carol. I managed to make one game overall, which will be used for teaching in both maths and English.
On day 4 I continued my C.V. Plan with Stephen. After lunch I altered an excel spreadsheet and then laminated it. This spreadsheet represents Trisha’s Hairdressing class list and students are grouped by colours that correspond to the day they attend. Then I made some changes to it, printed five copies in colour and then laminated them. After that we stuck them on staff walls. Then I amended and printed a sheet with student’s names and passwords on it, for use in examinations. I then put these into groups for the day that the students attend and lastly I put them into the corresponding envelopes.
On the final day I started off by completing my Work Experience Journal with Tracy. I then started creating a news story from my Journal’s daily reflections with Brian. In writing the news story, I learned some new vocabulary and also how to write something professionally for the web. I’ve really enjoyed my time here, all the staff are brilliant and I will remember that most of all.
