30/04/10
The annual Open Day at tpm on Friday 30th April welcomed record numbers of school leavers and parents this year.
All teaching, assessment, recruitment and support staff were on hand with advice, support and guidance. Current Apprentices gave talks and demonstrations to parents and young people, including: practical hairdressing techniques;
trying out hairstyles using computer software;
how to hold an infant using an interactive doll
and communication skills using telephone training systems.
tpm staff welcomed 159 young people from 33 Merseyside Schools, at their training centre, to learn about careers in Hairdressing, Barbering, Childcare and Business Admininstration. All school leavers were allocated a recruitment interview during May as they become eligible for work and training. Employers can rest assured that tpm will have an excellent selection of Apprentice candidates on their portfolio this year.
Personal Advisor, Julie Zavros from the Connexions service was in attendance and provided independent information support and guidance for parents and young people on the day. Julie commented that the tpm apprentices facilitating the day were a credit to the company.
