Never too late to learn - L2 Awards for Mother of two

tpm Receptionist Beverley Duff MidiBeverley Duff, receptionist at tpm has had an exceptional year. Having achieved level 2 qualifications in Equality and Diversity and Business Administration, she is now aiming even higher with her Level 3 award in Business Admin.

Bev left school at the age of 16 with a few CSE qualifications and held several part-time jobs in retail and administration over the years whilst raising a family. For 22 years Bev has been a full time mum to her two children; one a Psychology graduate from LJMU and the other an aspiring fashion journalism student.

In 2009, her children independent of her; Bev found herself wanting to improve her skills and work prospects. It was at this time she gained a position as a full-time receptionist with tpm.

In a recent interview with Marketing Administrator, Josh Fearon, Bev commented that; ‘Just because you are or have been a full time mum, doesn’t mean learning has to stop! I’m lucky that my employer embraces the Skills Pledge and helped me gain some funding through Train to Gain for my training. Working at tpm has given me the confidence to improve my skills and further my career options. My new goal in life now is to be working as a Business Development Consultant for tpm in 5 years time.’

Bev's Line Manager and Personnel Officer Paul Harding, commented that: 'Beverley's achievements are a credit to her determination and hard work and she represents everything that tpm sets out to achieve in terms of inclusion, equality and opportunity; we're very proud of her achievements and the reception standards she maintains.'
